DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, P.S. Bartlett, 15J, Model 1883, 18S, heavy 14K multicolor gold box hinge Solidarity HC recase with diamond inset to an 8-pointed star at rear center surrounded by yellow and white floral detail, front with rose gold shield surrounded by multicolor floral detail, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#5619913. Gross weight of assembled watch 95.9 dwt (149.3 g). A heavy and attractive multicolor case, highlighted by its superb rear diamond which weighs approximately 0.40 ct and is of bright white color with VVS or better clarity.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul recommended, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered haze spotting and micro-fine scratches, patch of oxide to regulator star; dial with very faint hl above seconds-register, faint hls below seconds-register near 6, micro-fine scratch inside 2; excellent hands, minute missing a tiny bit of its tip and with some finish loss to tip; case shows light wear, dent to band between 12 and 1, mild dent at lower-right perimeter of rear, good overall engraving detail with mild reduction throughout which is most notable at shoulders, cuvette with a sizable depression at center for diamond's culet, front hinge missing one end-cap; tight brassy replacement bow thinned at top, crown shows ample wear with ridge break; clean plastic crystal.
